With the beginning of the year comes excitement for the fresh and new. I'm excited every January to join the New Year New Room Refresh Challenge because it feels like I'm starting the year and my home on the right foot. One of my favorite ways to refresh a space is to switch up the area rug. Lately I've been loving patterned area rugs so I'm excited to share some favorites as well as the new area rug for my dining room.

Refresh A Room With Patterned Rugs
So, why a patterned rug? I love that they make a statement, add visual interest but still have order to them. It means lots of other interesting pieces can be added to a room without the rug feeling like too much. I like a lot, but I like a lot to feel and look good too.Rugs are such an easy way to refresh a room. You really just have to roll it out and instantly enjoy it. The hardest part is picking one which is why I've picked 6 gorgeous patterned rugs that'll look great in any room.

Mohawk Home has stylish, quality made rugs in trendy and timeless designs. They're a great resource for area rugs because of how widely they're available. I've owned multiple Mohawk rugs over the years and they've all held up beautifully to every day life with pets and a small child. Naturally I was excited to add another one of their rugs to my home to refresh my dining room.
I chose to use the Aloma rug by Under the Canopy in Denim. There were many things to love about this rug but I'll just share the highlights with you. The design has a global inspired vibe to it which fits into my existing home style. It's constructed with yarn made from recycled plastic bottles. And it's both soft and stain resistant!

Isn't it lovely?

When I'm shopping for rugs, I try to look for something that will work in many rooms of my home. This gives me flexibility to switch things up whenever I feel the itch for change. This rug is so soft and luxurious feeling. I kind of want to try it in every room

There's not much else you can do to bring a fresh new feel to a space with as little effort as a rug. It's one of the first things I look at changing when updating a room. It's large enough for big impact without spending a lot of money.
