If you're just checking into this series, I'm participating in the Spring 2019 One Room Challenge as a guest participant. Bloggers, Designers, and Stylists from all over join together and track their progress making over a room in 6 weeks. Everyone links up their posts on the One Room Challenge blog so check it out to see everyone else participating.
Here's what my space is looking like this week:

By The Week
Week 2: Removing the remaining wallpaper, prepping walls for paint, caulking wainscotting.
Week 4: Install curtain rods and curtains, touch up paint, decorate.
Week 5: Final decorating, Photographing.
Week 6: Reveal the finished space.
So far things are surprisingly on track! I've finished up three coats of paint on the trim and windows and two coats of paint on the walls themselves. I'm using Valspar 2000 paint + primer in "High Hide White" straight from the shelf in an eggshell finish. I really love the soft focus effect of the eggshell paint. I can't stop staring at my walls! It's a similar effect of blurring primer for the skin.
I'm still trying to make a choice on a paint color for above the trim. These are the ones I've narrowed it down to:

If you have an opinion, please let me know in the comment section! I am struggling with how green or blue to lean. Or if I should go with more of a true grey.
Before the next update, I hope to have the color selected and painted.
I hope to have some progress made on making over the buffet from the old china cabinet that was in this space.
And I hope to have curtain rods selected and hung.
That doesn't sound like too much to get done before this next Wednesday but I always run into hiccups that make every step take at least twice as long as I plan. Does that happen to you? It never ceases to surprise me but it happens all the time!
Alright, I've got to get back to paint selection. Stay tuned for the next update!
The walls look great! Can't wait to see which trim color you choose!
ReplyDeleteCan’t wait to see the final space! Paint colors are hard! They all look great so I don’t think you can go wrong.
ReplyDeleteThe white walls really brighten up the space! I do like all the paint swatches, though I always lean toward grey. And yes, things ALWAYS take twice as long as planned....and usually involve issues. Good luck this week!
ReplyDeleteMy eyes are leaning toward the bluer one on the top row. But really they all are beautiful and calming so I don't think you can go wrong. I cant wait to see how it comes together and I hope you had a great time on spring break! xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteI think both the blue or green are pretty and tranquil and it really depends on what you like best. There has to be one that speaks more to you than the others, and that is the one!
